More lesser-known albums of '08

Furr by Blitzen Trapper

This album has a nice 60's/70's feel to it. I think it's much better than Wild Mountain Nation.

Hometowns by The Rural Alberta Advantage

Fans of Neutral Milk Hotel will probably like this one.

The Family Afloat by Bound Stems

A solid album from these Chicago natives.

The Rhumb Line by Ra Ra Riot

This album has been growing on me the past couple months. It's a good debut indie pop album.

Alight of Night by Crystal Stilts

Another good debut album to come out this year.

The Great Remainder by Waxflight

It took a few listens to grow on me, but this is a true indie album.

The first EP from this shoegaze band out of Dublin.

The Midnight Organ Fight by Frightened Rabbit

To quote an Amazon reviewer: "What would it sound like if Snow Patrol had brass ones?"
Keep Yourself Warm by Frightened Rabbit [deleted mp3]

Red, Yellow & Blue by Born Ruffians

With a track like "Hedonistic Me" what more can I say? A nice feel-good album.
I Need A Life by Born Ruffians [deleted mp3]

Life Like by The Rosebuds

A few disappointments towards the end, but starts off strong with the title track.

House With No Home by Horse Feathers

An excellent indie folk album from these guys out of Portland.

Energy Shortage by New Grenada

I couldn't possibly make a list to end out 2008 without including this one.
Pitfall by New Grenada [deleted mp3]

On a side note, one album I'm looking forward to in the next year is Hospice by The Antlers.

"Two" is one of the best new tracks I've heard all year.
