The Rest

"Could've been the gravy on Thanksgiving Day"
I love that line from "Phonetically, Phonetically" by Hamilton, Ontario's The Rest. Their second album, Everyone All At Once is coming out in April. I highly, highly recommend it. There isn't a single track on this album that I don't like, which is something I can't even say for most of my favorite major-label artists. Throw in a little shoegaze, indie pop, indie rock, and just downright great songwriting and you've got what could be (and IMO should be) one of the best albums for this year. What took a year and a half to make grabs at you within the first few seconds. I can't pick just one or two stand-out tracks. All ten stand out.
Oh yeah, did I say that I highly recommend it?
